What happened to Cindy, Bob, Steve over the course of time? What feeling do I want my listener to have at the end of the story? How would I describe the lake (personification) What did Cindy's voice sound like? Comforting, confident, etc. How else would I describe her character without overdoing it? All stories are about heroes (Steve and Cindy) All heroes have flaws and they are heroes because of their flaws Hero's have to have passions - a wound they are trying to overcome.
